What started out as a regular habit of bringing a few kids to church on Saturday night, has turned into one of the liveliest “churches” in West Michigan: Super Saturday. Using five 15-passenger vans, Urban Family Ministries buses 125+ pre-school, elementary and teenage children to a local church gymnasium most Saturdays for worship, Bible teaching, songs, games and a tasty snack. The children learn scripture through a weekly memorization program, they participate in the worship service, and learn what it means to serve each other.
This fall we have moved the Super Saturday time slot from evenings to the afternoon, from 2:30pm-4:00pm, which will give our volunteers their Saturday evenings free. We prepare a healthy snack bag for each child to take home.
